I get inspiration from a lot of places: painting, fiber arts, sculpture, vintage clothing, photographs, the changing seasons… all over the place. I love looking at art online – it’s my favorite "taking a break" time waster. Here are a few things that I dug this week.
- Loly Ghirardi (aka Señorita Lylo) does the most AMAZING embroidery. I love her work – especially the more 3-dimensional, sculptural aspects of it. This interview with her is really interesting, and has lots of photos.
- This article about sharing your work to get over creative blocks makes some good points. I'm not sure I'm completely on board with it, though. I'm still thinking about it :)
- Artist Nemo Gould creates gorgeous kinetic sculptures out of found materials. LOVE. This is the kind of thing that makes me want to learn sculpture, welding, and metalwork!
